Knox-Elora Presbyterian Church
Knox-Elora states its mission as embracing the lives and needs of its community and congregation and creating a loving and joyful celebration of Christ's love for all people. It is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
The congregation was founded in 1837 at Bon Accord in Upper Nichol Township and worshipped first in a log church (1837–38), then in a frame-roughcast church opened in 1850. The present stone church on Church Street was built in 1873 at a cost of $22,000, and a centennial cairn was dedicated at the original Bon Accord site in 1937.
Rev. Susan V. Clarke served as minister from 2015 to 2024; Rev. Dr. Kristine O’Brien is Interim Moderator while the congregation searches for a minister. The church keeps a Facebook page for its building restoration project alongside its main page, and its website includes a children’s stories section, newsletters and events.
